Workshop: Wat kan je nou écht in de farmaceutische industrie doen als apotheker?

Na 6 jaar studeren ben je apotheker. De weg naar de openbare en ziekenhuisapotheek is een logisch vervolg, maar je kan ook gaan werken in de farmaceutische industrie. Maar wat houdt dat nou in “werken in de farmaceutische industrie” en hoe kom je daar? In deze workshop geven we je een kijkje in de farmaceutische industrie, delen we onze ervaring en willen we graag al jouw vragen beantwoorden. 

Alexander Hamilton begon zijn loopbaan als apotheker bij Mediq (overgenomen door Brocacef).  Vanaf 2012 heeft Alexander gewerkt bij Bipharma als Manager van de Quality, Business Development en Sales afdeling en als Responsible Person en Qualified Person. Na z’n MBA  is Alexander Project Manager Value-based Healthcare bij Janssen geweest. 

Arjen Wolterink startte zijn carrière als apotheker in Apotheek De Struytse Hoeck. Na ruim een jaar zag Arjen in dat de openbare apotheek niets voor hem was. Vanaf 2010 heeft Arjen o.a. als Country Manager en Out-licensing Manager Europe gewerkt voor Accord Healthcare en Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. 

Arjen en Alexander hebben beiden Farmacie gestudeerd in Groningen en zijn de eigenaren van Addimed Pharma, een Nederlandse farmaceutische leverancier van geneesmiddelen.

What can you really do as a pharmacist in pharmaceutical industries?

After studying pharmacy for 6 years, you will become a pharmacist. The path to the community and hospital pharmacy are one of the more common options you have. However, working in the pharmaceutical industries is also an option. But what does it mean to ‘work in the pharmaceutical industries’ and how do you get there as a pharmacist? In this workshop we would like you to take a glimpse in the pharmaceutical industries, we share our experiences and answer all your questions. 

Alexander Hamilton started his career as a pharmacist at Mediq (which is now called Brocacef). After finishing his MBA, Alexander was Project Manager Value-Based Healthcare at Janssen.

Arjen Wolterink started his career as a pharmacist in Apotheek De Struytse Hoeck. After working in a community pharmacy for more than a year, Arjen realized the community pharmacy was not his thing. From 2010, Arjen worked as Country Manager and as Out-licensing Manager Europe at Accord Healthcare and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. 

Alexander and Arjen both studied Pharmacy in Groningen. Another thing they have in common is they are both the owners of Addimed Pharma, a Dutch pharmaceutical drug supplier.
